Hello,

i think the blb are the problem cause the are 0 bytes.

Thomas,

What version of DBISAM are you using?
Whrn you say DSU repair fails, what do you mean? Are you getting an error message ?
Also, if blob files are supposed to have data, please check if you have .bbk files with the same name with more than 0 bytes, and if you do, make a backup of those files right now, before any other operation on those files.

Yes, that will probably mess up the repair.  You need a .blb that at least
has a valid header size (contents don't matter).  As Fernando indicated, you
can restore a .bbk backup of the .blb file, if you have one in in the same
database directory for the table being repaired.

Sorry i forgot the error numbers. It was 9217 and 9218.

the customer had no .bbk and no backup. (Every mail my customers get, have a footer with "Please dont forget to make backups").

My workaround was to change the 0 byte blbs against blbs of 2 empty tables where the blbs were not corrupted. After copying i did a repair run. Now the customer can run the application again and no data in the dat files seem to be lost. Was this a good idea?

I am using dbisam and edb since years now, but it was the first or second case a customer had such a corrupt file that could not have been repaired. Congratulations Elevatesoft, great work.

There are two components i am fully satisfied with since years: DBISAM/EDB and F......ort.

Yes, that will work fine.

You can mention other product names here, we don't mind. Smile
