Hello
I have a problem with a network installation without using the client server mode. They have from time to time an error message 8961 on the opening of a table. By leaving all the application and restart do not have a message anymore have you an idea?

Please always indicate what version of DBISAM you're using, along with the
build number.

A transient #8961 "Header corrupt" that doesn't require a repair error
usually indicates a bug in the SMB protocol or network redirector under
Windows.   Are you using Windows Vista and higher ?

I would strongly suggest moving away from direct network connections to
using the DBISAM Database Server.  MS is just not doing a good job of
keeping such direct network access bug-free and stable lately, so it can be
a real headache to make sure that everything is operating properly and that
the proper service packs and/or hot fixes are installed to prevent such
issues.

Hello
I am surprised with your answer because I meet no problem with BDE
The version of Windows is Seven and the DBISAM version is 4.34

Here's a simple test you can try yourself: set up your existing application
to use the DBISAM Database Server on the server machine instead of direct
networked access.  There's a free 5-user version included with every version
of DBISAM that you can use.  I guarantee you that you will never see that
error again, and this will prove to you that the problem is with the Windows
networking and not with DBISAM.
