Thread DBISAM Error 12036

Hi,

I have a client where a backup was made of the data, the server OS reloaded and the data copied back onto the server. We are now getting the following error on most tables

DBISAM Engine Error # 12036 The table or backup file <Name> is not valid

Is there anything I can do myself to rectify this? I noticed this is a signature generated by the engine itself and is then compared on next access to the file.

Kind Regards

Did you re-install the DBISAM Database Server or your application ?  This
type of error indicates that the engine signature used to create the DBISAM
table files does not match that being used by the accessing application or
DBISAM Database Server.

Hi Tim,

this application still access the tables directory (file 'server' method?). There is no DBISAM Database Server running as a separate process.

The only changes that I am aware of are:

1. Backup of data folder
2. Format and reload.
3. Reinstall of application (our application). Possibly a newer version - but still on DBISAM 4.
4. Placement of data in data folder.

Thanks

You haven't quoted the actual tablename so is it possible that its a temporary table and the application doesn't have full access to the temporary directory (PrivateDir).

Did you accidentally change the engine signature in your application ?
