Hi,
if I leave the Active property of the Session to true at design time when the program start i get an 11280 error  because the server is down. There is a method to intercept this error? (happens when the create event of the first form has not started yet)

thanks
Mirco

Mirco,

Is there any specific reason for setting it to true at design time ?

Yes
at design time I need to get the list of fields in the grids or other components that connect to the database to visually see the result

Try installing GExperts and setting it so that it automatically sets connected to false.

I also want to get persistent field names in the IDE and had the problem of leaving Active set to True causing me problems. Been using GExperts for years and its much better.

That sounds interesting - have GExperts, but can't see that option anywhere!
