Thread DBIsam 4.39B3 trial installation bug?
Mon, Dec 9 2013 12:36 PMPermanent Link

Stephan Kraemer

Hello,

I was trying to install the 4.39B3 trial for Delphi XE5.
It looks like it does not install correctly. DXE5 can't find the DCUs, f.ex. DBIsamCn, DBIsamEn, etc. I searched myself and it looks like they are not installed?
With my old version for D2010 they were installed into <DBIsam>\Code and there was also a subfolder source which included some source code, f.ex. the DBIsamTb.pas.
Now there are no DCUs in the Code folder, but the sources are there. The compiler error shows up when compiling DBIsamTb.pas and looking for the DBIsamCn.DCU.
The design time package had been installed correctly, since I can open the sample project.

Any idea what is wrong here?

Best regards
Stephan

Not bug - trial version uses runtime packages.

Thank you very much!

Now it works, after some irritation with missing search paths to the DCP files...

However, why does the trial not install in that way from the beginning, so that you can simply use it without any further action? Or even some information popping up after installing would be helpful here.

Best regards

Stephan,

We had some problems with the trial versions being pirated, so we decided to
restrict access to the compiled .dcus.

We note this at the top of the Downloads page:
