Hi Tim,

Are you using the database server with Citrix, or just an application that
is accessing the tables directly ?

Citrix server got client (application only), DB server have DBISAM server and DB tables.

Today we did load testing on application using 20 concurrent users. (Used DBISAM Server 3.24 and 3.30 both) Performance on both almost same. If any of the users execute heavy query it
will affect to all the users connected to DB. Once it happen the query took 30 sec will take 3 min. At this time processor utilization is 50% and 25% memory used.

Any solution?

Hi Tim,

This is additional information for above query.

I saw one of your news letters talk about DBISAM memory manager. We also used Dell 2850 dual processors. (http://www.elevatesoft.com/scripts/newsgrp.dll?
action=searchopenmsg&group=5&msg=51620&keywords=DBISAM*%20Server*%20Concurrent*%20user*%20performance*#msg51620)

Can you please let me know or please send me the DBISAM server which have memory manager.

Sachith

Per email:

The DBISAM memory manager is in DBISAM version 4.x.  However, with the
latest ElevateDB product, we simply use the now-standard FastMM4, so I would
suggest that you download and use it instead with the database server.
Simply put it as the first unit in the dbsrvr.dpr USES clause, and then
re-compile the dbsrvr.dpr project.

Hi Tim,

Situation is like this: currently we use Delphi 5 with DBISAM 3.24. We do not have source code for dbsrvr 3.24

We do have source code for DBISAM 4.25 (including source code for dbsrvr) but, our application is not yet migrated to 4.25 because its involve code changes in application. (This is currently
on going task from our side)

However, we need to improve performance of dbsrvr as soon as possible. (To use the both processors and memory management) Therefore, can you please send us compiled dbsrvr with
FastMM4?

Or can I used dbsrvr 4.25 with 3.24 VCL’s and tables?

Or do I have to buy source code for dbsrvr 3.24 to do this?
