Thread Table Import Into Access 2003
Tue, Apr 25 2006 11:03 AMPermanent Link

Stuart Kelly
Hi,

We are using DBISAM 3.30.

One of our customers is trying to import the DBISAM tables into Mircosoft Access 2003.
When a LargeInt field is imported it is converted to data type: Text.

Is this a problem with the ODBC driver or with Mircosoft Access 2003?

Thanks

It's Access, or more specifically, Jet, which don't support the Int64 data
type, AFAIK.  Jet determines how the ODBC driver binds the row data to the
row buffers that Jet uses to read from a given query result set, and the
ODBC driver just does as it is told.  For some reason, it doesn't want Int64
data back as an Int32 instead, most likely due to possible conversion
issues.
