Thread Table not appearing in list

I have a problem perhaps someone can help me with.

I have a file share with ~60 tables (DBISAM V4). I have .dat extensions associated with
dbsys, so I can browse to the table and double click and bring up the table. However, when
I open up dbsys and browse through the directory to select a table to open, the table is
not listed (most other tables are).

Is there any possible reason for this behavior? Specifically, I have (among others)

Master Ticket
Detail Ticket

The above files are listed (and working) properly.

In the same directory, I have

Master
Detail

These files WILL NOT be listed in dbsys (or any ODBC conection, e.g. Access Linked Table
Manager).

Is there a problem with names???? I am at a loss.

Thanks,

Ed

Do both of those tables have both a .dat and an .idx file in that directory
?

Tim,

I apologize for not being specific. Among others, I have the following files in a directory:

Master.bbk Master.blb Master.dat Master.dbk Master.idx
Detail.dat Detail.dbk Detail.ibk Detail.idx

When I double-click either of the .dat files in exporer, the file will properly load in
dbsys. If I open dbsys, neither of these files will be listed in the open table dialog box
within dbsys (nor Access).

I have checked (and double checked) file permissions. Neither table is encrypted (although
that does not preclude it being listed).

I had thought that maybe the files are corrupt, but I cannot select the table within dbsys
to repair.

Any thoughts?

I would check the file attributes and make sure that neither file
(master.dat or detail.dat) is marked as hidden or anything else that might
preclude DBISAM from picking it up as a "normal" file.   The .dat file is
the determining factor as to whether a table shows up in the table listings.

Tim,

I am at a loss.

I am attaching a screen shot for you to see.

Here is a pic of is the Master.dat file as opened in dbsys (I did this by double-clicking
and relying on file associations). In the foreground I then selected the open table dialog
box and, mysteriously, the Master file is NOT listed.

Although difficult to see in the pic, please note the directory listed in the title bar is
the same.

Any ideas??

Did you check the file attributes like I suggested ?  That's the only thing
left that I can think of that could be the issue.

Tim,

Problem solved.

Samba runs over ports 137-139 and somewhow only 137 and 138 were open. I have no idea why,
but the everything else ran except for the "disappearing tables" within DBISAM ODBC. This
was clearly a problem on my end and I appreciate your help.
