Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Roy,
<< Its this terminology thing again. When I originally asked for it my brain was thinking table properties since that's what I spend most of my time in EDBManager playing with. As is common in the IT world you have superbly delivered what was asked for, not what I wanted <vbg>. Can I put in another request (if you have any Fkeys left over) for one to take me back to the table properties. >> I'll see if I can come up with a scheme that allows for special hotkeys for each object. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Sorry to be a nuisance. I bet you wish you could just write the engine and forget the UI. If so I have sympathy since I'm still working my way through the TMS controls finding out where and how to set the colours so I can allow the users to skin the app. There are a few where their stylers alter the font as well as the colours - great when you have a very carefully designed form. << Sorry to be a nuisance. >> Not at all. The utilities are part of the product, so they need just as much attention. I'm just not quite as good with the UI design and development. I got luck with DBISAM because it was simple. << I bet you wish you could just write the engine and forget the UI. It's working pretty well now, so as long as I don't touch anything ever again, things should be fine. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

If you ever need help you have a raft of people here who spend more time on UI than anything else. >I got luck with DBISAM because it was simple. Totally disagree - DBSys was simple, elegant and very good at what it did. It helped that DBISAM was a nice user friendly product and much more suited to the PC style of development. I do agree though that its a lot simpler than ElevateDB, especially measured in the hair pulling out stakes <vbg> >Well, I think that the EDB Manager UI is finally starting to settle down a >bit and stabilize. Hmm, I think I'll try that approach with a few apps; but being marketing savvy I'll call it product stabilisation Roy Lambert |
