<< Can we have a password changed date in the users table please to assist in enforcing passwords being changed on a reasonable basis? >> I'll see what I can do. Normally, however, I don't like to store frequently-updated information in the configuration file or database catalog because any changes causes all connected engines to re-read the configuration file or database catalog from disk in order to see the changes. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

<< I was only thinking of making them change it once every three months - that's not frequent >> It's not your particular case that I'm worried about, rather more the possible maximum frequency of changes for any installation. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Rita" | I hate them nagging things like
"You have had this password now for 12 moons change it or u will not get any further" I just closed an account 6 months ago they went over the top on it by insisting monthly changes. So is it a good thing or just an idea thrown up by an overzealous software engineer to try and stop his customers product getting breached ? My opinion as a customer was every blinking time I buy something here I have to change my password and the software doesnt remember me, I have been around long enough now buying stuff over the www and have up until now never been hit by bandits. So the software out there is ok its just idiots who have been phished or mined who need hand holding. Some bugger at Tesco's (supermarket) in Southport sold my mother a mobile phone for 10 quid she cant use it God help my sibblings and I she asks kids in the street to send photos of bargains in the shops to us all, then she takes it to bed with her and lays on it recalling last number dialled. Stick your pword nagging idea Roy sorry sir but this nanny state of ours is getting worst. Buy a pig instead and name it Mohammed less trouble "Roy Lambert" <roy.lambert@skynet.co.uk> wrote in message news:77DA7F5B-DDC5-4867-A0F9-A6139DC7FB45@news.elevatesoft.com... > Tim > > Can we have a password changed date in the users table please to assist in > enforcing passwords being changed on a reasonable basis? > > Roy Lambert |

Not to clear on the relevance of your mother's mobile phone. Like yourself I rarely change passwords but some companies think its a good idea. Roy Lambert |
