ANN: DBISAM/FastReport 4 Components Status Update |
Tue, May 8 2007 9:31 AM | Permanent Link |
Steve Forbes Team Elevate | Hi Guys,
I wanted to let you know what is happening with the DBISAM components for FR4. I have completed the components and whilst they work perfectly under D5, 6, and 7, there is a problem with them in BDS2006 (and presumably BDS2005 and Delphi 2007) which I traced back to some code in the FR core which was attempting to stream a null object. I sent an email to FR and received an answer today from Alexander confirming that the changes I suggested to resolve the problem have been incorporated in the FR core for the next release. I have been holding off any decision until I heard from the FR guys. I was also reluctant to release the components until I had a chance to test them under D2007. Unfortunately Borland/CodeGear lost my BDS Enterprise SA sunscription, and after a one month fight trying to get what I paid for it has finally been resolved today (phew). I am installing D2007 as I write. As soon as I can fully test the components under D2007, I will upload the components with details of the patch required in the FR code to fix issues under BDS2006 (etc.). BTW, thanks to Armindo Da Silva and Lance Rasmussen for their valuable assistance so far. -- Best regards Steve |

Lance Rasmussen Jazzie Software Team Elevate | Thanks for the bloodshed Steve,
So far, things appear ok, with the exceptions of the change to FR4 as you pointed out. I'm glad the FR gang finally is incorporating those changes. Steve Forbes Team Elevate | Hi Guys,
Incidentally, I have the FR ElevateDB components 80% done also. I just have to reconcile the changes needed in the TfrxEDBDatabase component, all others are done. Will hopefully have them ready in about a week. -- Best regards Steve "Steve Forbes" <ozmosys@spamfreeoptusnet.com.au> wrote in message news:69222DC0-A698-44B5-BBF4-5EED451BEC42@news.elevatesoft.com... > Hi Guys, > > Thanks everyone for the kind words.
