Hi Tim,

When I specify tables to buffer, do I also need to specify index and blob files?

Do I need to specify the catalog file, or is that already done by the BufferedFileIO property?

Thanks.

Well that's actually two questions so I amended the subject.

Yes.

Yes, you need to manually specify any files that you want buffered in a particular way, but the wildcards are there to assist you as much as possible (and remember to go from generic to specific with the file specifications).

Thanks Tim.  I assume that the more tables that are buffered the more memory is used, so I'm guessing it's probably not a good idea to buffer everything where there are a large number of tables.

No, you want to be as specific as possible to avoid situations where you've told EDB to use more memory than what is available on the machine.
