Error #601 with unique constraint |
Sun, Feb 18 2007 11:18 AM | Permanent Link |
Altaireon | Tim:
I get the #601 error when I try to filter on a column that has a unique constraint. When I remove the constraint or create a regular index all is fine and no error occurs. As soon as I put a unique constraint on the column and try and filter by the same column, the #601 error reappears. This seems to happen paticularly when I access tables created via the "Migrate Database from DBISAM." I did not seem to get this error when ceating new tables directly in EDB. Repair table does not fix the corrupt index. FYI, I am using Build 9. Tom Martin www.altaireon.com |

<< The files you requested have been posted in the binaries newsgroup. >> Looking at them.....got it. It's an issue with the buffer manager and primary/unique constraints. During the constraint validation a buffer is not getting released, thus causing the buffer manager to ignore it during the final write stages. That is why the error message is "the index page is empty". I'll have a fix available today or tomorrow for this in build 2. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

You have impeccable tech support and service. No wonder you have so many fiercely loyal customers. Thanks for the fast turn around and prompt attention especially on a holiday. It is greatly appreciated. Considering what I have paid over the years with the initial purchase and subsequent upgrades, your customer support and products DBISAM/ElevateDB are one of the best if not the best bargain around. Superior support along with phenomenal DB engines at a ridiculously low price. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work. I will upgrade this week. I am confident you will have ElevateDB rock solid and ready for primetime. Tom |
