asblinst.exe in an MSI |

Matthew Jones | Does asblinst.exe use MSI, or is it a standalone EXE?
Can it be told to operate completely silently? If I run it again for an update install, will that cause problems, or would it just repeat things and ensure they are right? I'll be playing with all this soon, but assurance would be nice. Thanks, Matthew |

EXE's can embed MSI's though, and MSI's need care chaining, hence me asking. The best thing though is that I took my .Net output, popped it into a fresh VM, copied the ElevateDB files into the expected location, and it just worked. No need to run the installer or anything. I have now to work out how to get that all automated - I don't want the installer to wipe an existing database, but that's simple now I know it works without fuss. Thanks, Matthew |
