Josselin | Hi,
I use ElevateDB in a program that consists of a main executable and several DLLs. This program can be used in local session or remote session. Should I put a TEDBSession component in each dll? Should I put a TEDBEngine component in each dll? Because every time I open a dll I have an error message that tells me that "The Configuration Path is empty". Thank you for your help. Bruno |

You cannot share objects between DLLs and the main EXE without configuring the FastMM memory manager to do so. What version of Delphi are you using ? -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. | Josselin,
<< I'm using Delphi 2009. What is the FastMM memory manager ? >> It is included with Delphi 2009 as the default memory manager. You can enable the shared memory manager for the DLLs by following these notes: http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/33416#20SharingMemoryManagersBetweenAnApplicationAndLibraries However, I actually misstated what you can do with the shared memory manager. You can share dynamic arrays and strings with it, but I don't think you can share object instances due to differences in the VMTs (virtual method tables) for the DLL vs. the EXE. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
