I like the sound of that. Might even tempt me into doing a bit of web development. Many years ago I wrote a screen generator in PICK (included a simple command line operation a bit like the old spreadsheets, a text editor, and built in multi table lookups) so I can fully endorse "Apparently, writing an IDE and compiler is pretty hard work." The one advantage I had was that it only had a few events which were processed in an understandable sequence. (eg before enter field, after enter field, before form display, after form display, before record load, after record load, before save, after save) Roy Lambert |
