I need to convert my ANSI DB to an UNICODE DB. What ist the fastetst and simplest way to do this? It looks as a very big drawback to me, that EDb doesn't support ANSI and UNICODE at the same time. Any ideas?

I assume you are talking about the data.
I moved to UNICODE as part of an upgrade from DBIsam to EDB.

But I think if you use the ANSI version to write INSERT statements to a
file including the data. you can simply run those under the UNI
version.  But if you have a lot of data it may take a long time.

You can do all this in EDBManager .. I think.

I have created a EDB 2 ANSI Database and want now to convert it into an
UNICODE DB. Exporting all data and reimport it should work, but I hope for a
better less complicated methode, as this may have troubles with BLOB-Fields.

This feature is coming soon (ANSI and Unicode with an engine property
switch).  It's necessary for some third party vendors, EWB, .NET, etc. and
has been needed for a while.  I just finally figured out recently how to do
it.

Cool!!! Will it be in EDB3 or will this be in EDB2 too? Can't wait to get

This will be EDB2, most likely 2.11.  It's the next thing I'm working on,
and will greatly simplify everyone's life, especially mine.
