"Adam H." | Good Morning Tim,
I'm just starting to do a bit with EDB and have hit a snag. I've created a database in a directory of it's own using the ElevateDB manager. In my application, I've dropped a TEDBSession component and TEDBDatabase component onto the form, and I'm trying to link it to the database. The properties I have set so far are: Session.LocalConfigPath (with the location of the data) Session.LoginUser (Administrator) Session.LoginPassword (EDBDefault) Session.Sessiontype (stLocal) Session.SessionName = 'mysession' As soon as I connect the session, my IDE goes into a frantic spit where it constantly flashes (fast flashing) a message about an access violation in rtl100.bpl. I'm running EDB 1.06b on Delphi 2007 on Vista 32 Business. Do you know what might be causing this? Thanks & Regards Adam. |

Check Engine.UseLocalSessionEngineSettings. This should be set to True. Roy Lambert |

"Adam H." | Hi Tim,
Just to confirm, I have also just tried: - Doing a system restore - Uninstalling EDB and installing the latest - Creating a project from scratch, dumping the TSession component and connecting. I still have the same issue. (Maybe EDB's seen what I've done to DBISam with the compression errors, and decides it doesn't want me to mess with it <vbg>) Cheers Adam. |

"Adam H." | Hi Roy,
Thanks for your reply... > Check Engine.UseLocalSessionEngineSettings. This should be set to True. Aah - fantastic - thanks. That pointed me in the right direction! Cheers Adam. |

Great, nice to know it was the right direction, but what was the destination - to help other converters. Roy Lambert [Team Elevate] |

<< As soon as I connect the session, my IDE goes into a frantic spit where it constantly flashes (fast flashing) a message about an access violation in rtl100.bpl. >> Roy's answer is correct, but I'll double-check this to see if this is Vista-specific or not. You should just see an exception about the configuration file, but the virtualization in Vista may be interfering with it. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

It sure isn't happy on my vista machine. It goes off like a frog in a sock! Cheers Adam. |
