Roy,

There are never milliseconds when we cast it as INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND.
Also, 12 was the size Ian asked for.

Hi Team,
I have Roy's solution working and it gives the absolute result fine.
What I would like now is for the Days to be left padded with '0'.
So, instead of getting 1:12:34:45, I would have 001:12:23:45.  Instead of 12:23:45:56, I would have 012:23:45:56. Etc.
This is so the column is consistently formatted.     It's the OCD in me. Wink

Regards & TIA,
Ian

Hmmm.  I just noticed a Duration of "366:0:28:01" instead of "366:00:28:01"  Frown  24 hour day. Wink

What did you decide - go with the simple approach or move to a UDF?

If the latter do you need any help?
