A couple of "how to" documents for really useful techniques in EDBMgr |

Adam Brett Orixa Systems | I have just recently discovered the "Migrate" "Update" capability of EDBMgr.
I have to say it is brilliant. It would have been very easy for me to go through years of using the product without discovering this feature ... which would have been a real shame. Similarly EDBMgr has a great feature whereby if you drag a table from the treeview in EDBMgr and drop it into a SQL window auto-insert SQL is written to create and populate a table. Both these features are tremendously useful, neither is really very well documented. ... a couple more technical articles in the support section would be really useful on how to use them. |

>Both these features are tremendously useful, neither is really very well documented. Be fair EDBManager is just not well documented Given a choice of documenting ElevateDB which Tim has made a brilliant job of and documenting EDBManager I know which i vote for. Roy Lambert |

Raul Team Elevate | I think this is a point where Wiki would be useful - ability for the community (all of us) to publish material. Peer-review would ensure that Tim has to spend very minimal if any time on this. Question is whether there is enough content to make it worthwhile and whether it could be added to website (linking to external site would be OK but not as convenient). Raul |

<< Both these features are tremendously useful, neither is really very well documented. >> EDB Manager has been lacking documentation for a while. Some of it is made up for by the in-line descriptions/instructions in the application, but it definitely needs some basics on where to go for various functionality, for the reasons that you cite (hidden, non-obvious). -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

My request for the first documentation would be keystrokes. Roy Lambert |

I like the idea of a wiki very much. I'll bet several of us would get in and add stuff. David Cornelius Cornelius Concepts |

Whilst I like the idea I think it would need a little more control and vetting than a film star's bio. My belief is that all posts should be vetted before making an appearance just to prevent complete and utter bollocks (I know I've posted some of it) making it into "helpful advice for the newbie" Roy Lambert |
