hello,
since tim is really busy and over the years there are quite a lot of requests,  why can't we ... (hopefully he is not too upset).
it takes a project in github, compilerversions since delphi 7 (i would suggest - i only have 2010 and xe2) and some coordination. i could do this with a public accessible mantis-bugtracker ...
who is in?
i had the feeling more than 50% of the stuff is not too difficult to implement.
of course we should wait for tim to give the nod ...

Interesting, but it would probably work better to contribute code
snippets and let Tim remain in control of the source.  Sure, we all get
the source and can certainly modify it as we need for our own use, but
there may be future considerations Tim has that we don't see and our
useful addition may create a hurdle down the road.

Having said that, I'm in to whatever extent makes sense.  The greater
limiting factor for me is the time. It's SOOOO much easier to just make
a suggestion and see it implemented in a future version!  Wink

Hendrik,

The problem with these types of situations is that it's very easy to lose
control over the quality and scope of the code.  Remember, we're not doing
open-source here and customers expect a certain level of quality and
reliability.

I'm trying to come up with a solution to my lack of time, but so far there
really aren't any good solutions.  The best thing everyone can do is to help
promote ElevateDB and Elevate Web Builder as much as possible.

Some sort of plug in architecture as exists in the Delphi IDE. Unfortunately, that would probably mean a total rewrite of EDBManager, but it would allow others to contribute and remove the problem of it being your fault when the addins don't work Smiley

Yeah, it would probably be easier to just add the enhancements directly.
The one good thing is that EWB IDE enhancements can apply to EDB Manager,
and vice-versa.  For example, parentheses-matching is in EWB, but not EDB
(yet).
