Thread Webupdate for EDBManager

Tim,

how about a webupdate for EDBManager. I have it installed on a number of
computers and it would be a real timesaver.

For all my applications I use a webupdate together with an inf-file on a
network drive, so that all applications in the network can update
themselves after just updating one of them.

Since you obviously have the technology why not just use it? Even better post it and we can all use it. Or are you suggesting that Tim should provide the ability to download the latest version from his website without having to go through the agree to licence and terms bit?

Roy,

I don't understand what you mean. It's a part of my applications. How
should I use it with EDBManager?

> Even better post it and we can all use it.

That was just an addition to my question, but if someone is interested,
I will tell him how I am doing it.

Exactly, because during the first download and/or installation this has
already been done.
Or are you saying that a webupdate generally cannot be done without a
new licence aggreement for each update?

Ah, I thought you were talking of a stand alone utility not something bolted into the app.

That's a matter for the software provider, and is probably dependent on the number of lawyers as a percentage of the population.

I'll see what I can do.  It's not too hard, especially since the EDB Manager
can use the remote stores to do so. Smiley
