Can we rename general to "AbsolutelyNothingToDoWithElevateDB" so that I don't have so much trouble figuring out wether I should use general or discussion for nothing to do with ElevateDB topics? <remove tongue> Roy Lambert |

don't have so much trouble figuring out wether I should use general or discussion for nothing to do with ElevateDB topics? >> How about I add this ? Note: This is just for Roy, and only Roy. Is everyone else gone ? Yeah ? Okay, good. Hey Roy, hope you're day is going well. In case you forget, the general forum is for technical ElevateDB questions that are of a general nature, whereas the discussion forum is for general technical discussions related to ElevateDB or whatever. Have a great week ! On a more serious note - you're using newsgroup access, right ? That's a little tougher since the descriptions may or may not appear anywhere in the newsreader. The web-based forums have the descriptions listed. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I keep promising to get round to rewriting my news/mail client - its about 12 years old now. When I do I'll take account of the descriptions. TTFN Roy |

Adam Brett Orixa Systems | I am enjoying this thread, it has just the right the right mix of insanity and attention to detail.
However, I think the "General Discussion" NG probably should be called something like "Non-technical" or "Off Topic", (similar to Roy's suggestion ... but a bit more sensible otherwise people post technical questions there & probably don't get seen. I know I rarely look in this NG, I always start with "General" & get on to "SQL" if I have time. General and General Discussion are just a bit too similar ... |

>I am enjoying this thread, it has just the right the right mix of insanity and attention to detail. Would you please make it clear to all that its Tim that is insane and the fact that I wear my underpants on my head and have a pencil stuck up each nostril has nothing to do with it! I would like to further suggest that we merge the AbsolutelyNothingToDoWithElevateDB and the AbsolutelyNothingToDoWithDBISAM and the AbsolutelyNothingToDoWithEWB newsgroups. I know Tim basically just duplicated the structure but I'm not sure what value three different off subject newsgroups delivers. Roy (the sane one) |
