Does the IDE use a kind of anti aliasing with fonts?

I changed the interface of a TButton and it looks quite different in the
IDE and at runtime. (See screenshots).

Yes.  You wouldn't like it without it. Smile

It depends upon the font, but yes, they may render slightly differently due
to the differences in how they're rendered.  The IDE uses GDI+, while the
browsers may use different methods like plain GDI.  I didn't use plain GDI
in the IDE because it's a mess trying to deal with things like transparency,
and I couldn't dedicate that much time to it.
