Rick,

You're misstating the issue.  The issue is that the *IE web browser* isn't
working correctly when the network interface is unavailable.  Why, I have no
idea, and it's going to take some digging to find out why.  I suspect that
it has to do with IE thinking that the security zones have changed once the
network interface is gone, but that's just a hunch.

This is not a high priority at the moment, so don't expect any resolution
for some time.

Hi Tim.

No problem on waiting for investigation. It's a bit inconvenient when
developing disconnected but I can stop the internal web server and still
run the application within the IDE directly from the file system.

I know that you are busy preparing EWB2 for GA but I assume that you
still want to be notified of potential issues with the product.

I don't think I'm misstating anything, just describing what I observe.

Like Raul, I can successfully run my application in IE when both the IDE
and internal web server are running
(http://localhost:8080/project2.html) even if the network is
disconnected. IE works so it appears to be an issue only with the EWB
IDE browser. It may be that the security settings are handled
differently for the Windows browser control than for IE itself but that
seems unlikely.

Sure, just don't expect a resolution this week.

The issue is with the browser (IE), not the web server (EWB).  That's what I
was clarifying.

Several security-related items are handled differently in the webbrowser
control, as opposed to the normal IE.  Things like how prompts occur, and
specific settings for the webbrowser control, can cause completely different
behaviors in certain situations.
