Steve Gill | Hi Tim,
Just letting you know that on installing Build 13 I got the missing certificate error again. I went and created it manually but I thought it was supposed to do it automatically now. = Steve |

Steve Gill | I didn't use Run as Administrator when I ran the installer so maybe that was the problem.

<< Just letting you know that on installing Build 13 I got the missing certificate error again. I did a clean-install test of Build 13 before I released it and confirmed that it was creating the certificates in the correct stores. Do you remember what the whole error message was ? Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Steve,
Are you sure that you *didn't* use the Run As Administrator option when you ran the installer ? The installer needs to be run as the user that will be using EWB, as that is the user account under which the certs are installed. Also, can you confirm that there is/isn't a localhost cert for your user (using the MMC utility) ? Thanks, Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I just double-clicked the installer. << Also, can you confirm that there is/isn't a localhost cert for your user (using the MMC utility) ? >> Well there is one now because I created it manually. = Steve |

<< Well there is one now because I created it manually. >> Did you create it for the current user ? If so, then please check your ewbide.ini file here: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Elevate Software\Elevate Web Builder 3 and make sure that the server is set to use the correct certificate store/store type: [Server_Internal] Description=Internal Web Server URL=https://localhost Port=80 Secure Port=443 Keep-Alive Resource Name=keepalive Authentication Resource Name=authentication Administration Resource Name=administration Databases Resource Name=databases Modules Resource Name=modules Applications Resource Name=applications Debugger Resource Name=debugger Logs Resource Name=logs Login User Name=Administrator Login Password=75137707565153425F45 Auto Start=1 Database Directory=C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Elevate Software\Elevate Web Builder 3\server Max Database Write Delay=5 Default Document= Content Directory=C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Elevate Software\Elevate Web Builder 3\server\content Application Directory=C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Elevate Software\Elevate Web Builder 3\server\applications Module Directory=C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Elevate Software\Elevate Web Builder 3\server\modules Logs Directory=C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Elevate Software\Elevate Web Builder 3\server\logs Connection Timeout=30 Max Request Size=67108864 Thread Cache Size=128 Max Num Threads=2048 Max Authentication Attempts=10 Authentication Lockout Time=300 Session ID Length=32 Session Expiration=1800 Password Salt Length=16 Password Hash Type=0 Certificate Name=localhost <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Certificate Store Name= <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Certificate Store Type=0 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Enable Debugging=0 If those are all set up correctly, then I'm not sure what's going on. Chris Holland SEC Solutions Ltd. Team Elevate | I just uninstalled all traces of EWB3 from my system and did a clean install (not as Administrator)
When I run EWB3 I get the error about the certificate being missing (which it is) I run the ewbcert localhost -C (as administrator) - the certificate is now there and EWB3 runs as a normal user with no problem. The certificate is now there and the ebbide.ini contains an entry for [Server_Internal] not sure what is different to when I did the last couple of installs! Chris Holland [Team Elevate] |

<< Did you create it for the current user ? If so, then please check your ewbide.ini file here: :: >> Yes. << Certificate Name=localhost <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Certificate Store Name= <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Certificate Store Type=0 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Enable Debugging=0 >> Yes, mine is identical to that. The only real difference with mine is that the internal server is using Port 81 instead of Port 80 (I have another web server on port 80). << If those are all set up correctly, then I'm not sure what's going on. >> It's not a big deal for me. I don't mind having to create the certificate for new builds. = Steve |
