I'm wanting to enable keystrokes without displaying a keyboard under Android.

We will be attaching RFID readers which send tags as virtual keystrokes to Android.  So I don't want users to have a visible virtual keyboard at that specific time.

Has anyone done something like that?

I went to Raspberry PIs  running Raspberian and Chromium, and the RFID device registered as a physical keyboard.  So the PI doesn't display a virtual keyboard.  It's been working well.

There may be other options, I just didn't explore them since this solved all my needs.
