Easiest way to upgrade from v1? |

Matthew Jones | So, assuming 2.01 is out, what is the easiest way to convert a 1.0
application to 2.0? Is it basically a "start a new project, create duplicate forms, create the layout and name things, then copy all the code from the original, and then test a lot"? Or are there any shortcuts available? Anyone done this? I have 66 files to convert (most of them a form/unit pair). -- Matthew Jones |

The problem was that EWB 2 ended up being an almost entirely different product, visually, so that there were some serious issues concerning how to convert the visual controls between the two. That, combined with the fact that the controls look entirely different than the default EWB 1.x themes, led me to believe that this was best left to a manual conversion whereby the new features/controls in EWB 2.x could be properly taken into account and used to the best of their capabilities. I shall be on this as soon as it is out, unless someone wants to pay me for contract development on EWB or Delphi services for it... (hint hint! 8-) I shall use this quiet spot for more learning of the new system. -- Matthew Jones |
