I have EWB Server running on a Windows Server 2012R2 and it is working fine.

Today when I select to stop the server because I need to add another module, I get program not responding "Close Program"

I tried it a couple of times and then I copied the ewbsrvr.exe from my computer to the server. Still not able to stop it.

Is there a command line I can run to make the server open without starting?

I can close the EWB server with out problems, I just can't restore.

Thanks,
Kim

So you can always get into the UI without issue, but you cannot stop the server using the tool button in the UI without the server becoming unresponsive, correct ?

Does the server tell you that there are active connections and stopping the server will kill them ?

Yes.

Yes, but there is no connections. After it close using Close Program and I start the EWB again it will not show again it goes right to Close Program.
When I click Close Program it does not close but after a while it will ask for Find solution or close program, then it close the EWB UI.

Okay, I think I know what the issue was, and it was already fixed for 2.06.  However, I don't think it was logged, so I'll make sure that this is the case.

Kim,

Okay, I went back and checked, and 2.05 *did* include the proper fix for the server shutdown, so that isn't the issue.

Can you reliably reproduce this issue ?

So, you're saying that if you simply start the EWB Web Server again after killing it before, that it won't even start ?

There's a mutex in the EWB Web Server to ensure that only one copy of each (named) server instance is only started once, so it might be possible that the original process wasn't actually killed completely yet, and the restart actually was coincidental with the original process showing the same error again while it was still trying to close.

Here is the scenario.
I right click the task-bar icon and select Restore
I then click the The Server icon with the minus. I get the EWB's warning.
I click OK. At this point I get a windows message that That the program is not responding and it gives me two options 1 Wait or 2 close program. I click Close program and and EWB turns into the Disable effect.
Then after 2 minutes I get another windows message with the choice 1. Check for solution 2 Close Program 3. Wait.

If I click Close it will final close and I/m able to start the server again.

If I try again then I don't get the EWB warning it goes straight to Windows "Not Responding" with the two choices, and this time it will takes longer for the second windows to show.

I I then try again next day I goes over the same steps again.

But I can always start the EWB again, I just can' add any new modules or datasets.

Can I edit the EWBSRVR.INI and restart the EWB server?

Did you add any custom modules to the web server ?  If so, then that is probably what is responsible.  You'll need to double-check them to make sure that they aren't causing any issues when destroyed or are stepping on any memory that they shouldn't be stepping on.
