If I may, I will pass on the advice a friend gave me when I started doing videos: buy a decent microphone. Myself, I bought a Rode Procaster Broadcast Dynamic Microphone from Amazon, and the stand arm for it, and it made things a lot better and clearer. It only picks up noise right in front, so you don't get the background echos from the room etc.

I got interrupted, so posted incomplete. The key, as he said, was that qualityh is only going to get worse downstream. As you put the video together, it will be compressed. Then the video player will mangle it. Then the user speakers will mangle it. So by starting with the best quality sound you can, you can put together a really nice sounding track on your video, and it gives the right impression.
