Hi

Could someone kindly clarify how to install and make use of fontawesome icon fonts

I remember doing it some time back with version 1.0 of EWB but
for some reason I cant work out and remember the steps for EWB 2.

I downloaded the version 4.7 files as follows:

FontAwesome.otf
fontawesome-webfont.eot
fontawesome-webfont.svg
fontawesome-webfont.ttf
fontawesome-webfont.woff
fontawesome-webfont.woff2

So which files  do i need to use and how are they setup for use within EWB?

Cheers

Kamran,

You do realize that EWB 2.x uses Font Awesome for its icon font (EWBIcons), correct ?  In other words, you don't have to do anything to use Font Awesome, it's already built in.  Having said that, there *are* some missing icons that have been stripped out, most notably all company-specific icons (social media, etc).

Hi Tim

Thanks for that Tim , but all I can see in my list when i try to select an icon is:

Add, Edit, Delete .....and lastly Prior icon

eg on a panel and in "IconName"

1. Where are the other icons  hiding then ?

2. Do I need to include or register any files anywhere ?

thanks

Kamran

This reminds me of my last 2.06B1 installation. In the IDE I only saw  a subset of the icons, while at runtime in the browser I saw all icons. Intuitively I (re-)installed the ewbicons.otf font located in "\Program Files (x86)\Elevate Web Builder 2\fonts" and the problem was solved.

You can't use icons from the font directly - you have to add what you
need to the IconLibrary:

What you see there is a collection of icons in the iconlibrary.
IconLibrary is an interface file: "TIconLibrary.wbi".

In order to cutomize it just copy the original file to your project
folder (or any path which is in your search path) and add new icons.
When adding new icons you can choose from the shipped set of Font Icons.

Have a look here for more details:

I just see that the quoted link is quite old:
to add/edit a FontIcon there is an Element "FontIcon".

Attached you find screenshots to show that.

In order to change the color just modify FontIcon | Font | Color

Kamran,

That's different - those are the *defined* icons in EWB's Icon Library.  In EWB, there's a global icon library that is shipped with EWB, and that's what you're seeing.

This topic in the manual discusses the whole concept:

http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=viewtopic&id=ewb2&topic=Icon_Library

You specifically want this section: "Defining Icons".
