I have been putting this off for a long time but now need to upgrade from 2,05 b4 to 2,06 b15   Ideally I would like to be able to use either version until I am up to speed  with 2,06    Is is correct that if I keep both copies ewbide, ini  then I can easily swich  back and forth by simply replacing them before I open EWB  And  should I uninstall the old version before installng the latest version or can I simply overwrite

Thanks

IIRC, the key is going to be the interface files. And perhaps the source. I think you basically have to take the plunge and upgrade. I doubt there will be any big issues... (famous last words!)

FWIW, I have taken to doing each project in a VM, and then I can snapshot before an upgrade, and thus revert if I find it too much. Plus it means that each major project is independent.

Yes, you can keep both versions of the .ini file, but, unfortunately, you cannot keep both versions installed on the same machine.  The newer version will keep trying to automatically uninstall the older version, and aborting the setup if you refuse to do so.

As long as you read over the breaking changes thoroughly between 2.05 and 2.06, you should be fine:

https://www.elevatesoft.com/download?action=info&category=ewb&type=ewbtrial&majorversion=2&version=2.06

under "Elevate Web Builder 2.06 Breaking Changes" and any breaking changes in builds after that point.

I think I will re-image my C Drive to a spare disk and test the upgrade there
