Thread Calling External Text Editor

Malcolm,

/*
This is my editor http://www.pspad.com/en/

Now that HAS a feature list that Tim could emulate Wink
*/

I can see a scenario where EWB could work with any text editor:-

1.   EWB starts or switches to an external editor via a shortcut.
2.   Before switching to the external editor, EWB saves all updated source files.
3.   In the external editor, it would present me with the latest source file.
4.   I make any changes I want with the source file(s) while enjoying the features the text editor has.
5.   I switch back to EWB.
6.   EWB checks any loaded source file for date/time/size differences.
7.   If present, the source file(s) are reloaded
8.   I see the changes made in the text editor within EWB.

Indeed, this is by far the better way. I'd suggest that EWB should have a "save on
de-activate" mode to make this easier. Delphi does this change detection of course.
It is a normal way of working, to allow more advanced tools to be used.

I thought that you were referring to a "hosted" solution.  Yes, the above
can be done and I'll add it to the list of enhancements.

Great!

I use Delphi for everything and minor text editing but switch to the external locally installed text editor for heavy duty text editing work.

I am really looking forward to this enhancement.
