Okay, so today is beta day.  But, as always, I'm running a bit behind and still need to finish testing the database handling and get the beta set up in our build system today.  The database handling required a bit more refactoring over the last week than what I expected in order to get it to work with both client and server environments properly without changing too much in the TDatabase/TDataSet classes.

However, I also didn't get a list of beta testers yet, so please email me at timyoung@elevatesoft.com if you would like to volunteer to be an EWB 3 beta tester, and please read this list of caveats before volunteering:

1) This is being called a beta, but it's more of a "late alpha".  There are still a *lot* of missing pieces, including documentation.  So, any testers will need to be self-starters, as I do not have a ton of time to provide support for the beta and need to keep going on filling in the rest of the missing pieces in the product.

2) The client browser applications and web server modules should work as they have, minus the small changes that they will require to accommodate either the new compiler (client applications), or the new authentication architecture (web server modules).

3) All beta communications will take place in the beta support forum here:

https://www.elevatesoft.com/forums?action=view&category=ewb&id=ewb_beta

4) Do not, under any circumstances, try to use EWB 3 in production.

Most of the missing pieces are small things, but I will have a complete, exhaustive list of what isn't done in the beta release notes.  It may seem like a lot, but most of the remaining work involves surfacing existing external code into the interpreter for the server-side applications, or UI additions in the IDE that aren't complete (context popups and a few dialogs).  The internal list that I keep has about 10 to-do items, so there's not a huge amount of work left.

Thanks !

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I have seen all of the beta volunteer emails and will be responding to them shortly.  The response has been great, so thank you very much to everyone that volunteered.

The final database functionality changes are fighting me a bit, but I'm finishing up the sorting now and then I just have to review whether I want to try to include server-side BLOB column handling or just release the beta as-is.

I'll post more on Wednesday morning.

Thanks !
