I've pulled all of the PHP database manager features. I was just spinning my wheels with it, and I'm still nowhere close to being done with it (the BLOB loading and transactions were still not done). PHP and the various MySQL interfaces are simply not equipped to deal with the complexities of an implementation of a generic database access layer. What about using Python instead of PHP? I would think most cheap Linux hosting companies have python running on their servers, I know mine does. Just a thought ... TD |

Unfortunately, the time he put into PHP/MySQL was not fruitful and thus far may have negatively impacted the ongoing development of EWB. I am wondering if those with Python experience can have a look at the PHP code he has shared and give it a go? The hosting company I use also has Python as a option, and I won't mind getting into some focused Python coding. l27 |

Please don't delay v 2.05 any further Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that Tim should try and accomplish this within the v2.05 update. In fact, after I re-read his original post below, I am all in on his offering a hosted solution running the EWB web server: For the future, I plan on finishing up the execution engine for the EWB Web Server and then we will be offering hosted solutions for the EWB Web Server. That will eliminate the need for PHP/MySQL running on an inexpensive Linux-hosted solution, and will allow you to debug your server-side web server applications remotely, among other things. The general goal is to provide a fast, single-language, multi-tier solution that can be deployed in a single click. TD |

He has the database backend and ewb front-end. Hope the pricing is not too high for smaller projects |
