As this is the second odd thing I've seen today (and no one else can reproduce the first), I am prepared to accept that something has gone a bit bandy with my installation of EWB, but just in case ...

I created a new component, descended from TGrid. It appeared in the "Standard" component list and seemed to work as expected.

However, all of the other icons in the other categories were offset by one. The components underneath were where you expected them, but the icons had shifted one place to the right, with the last one "falling off" the end.

For example - in containers, the last two (TSizer and TSizeGrip) were correct in the components you dragged to your form, but TSizer had the THTMLForm icon and TSizeGrip had the TSizer icon. Removing my custom component fixed everything again.

Is that a bug or am I having a really bad hair day?

Which begs another question - can I create my own "Category" of, say, "Custom"? I can put all my nonsense.

I have my own "custom" tab here, so it must be possible. A quick check
shows that when you add a component, you are asked for the category,
and can edit that. Maybe this is in the INI file so you could move your
existing one?

By Jove, it does too. I just wrongly assumed you had to select one of the drop down categories. Thanks for that!

I'm not seeing this here.

Did the component icon show up at the end of he other icons when you added it ?  Also, which category did you add it to ?

I added it to the Standard category, and yes, it showed up on the end.

One thing - I used an oversized icon (it was the only one I could lay my hands on whilst playing around). Don't know if that's relevant.

This is one of two oddities I'm seeing (the other being my previous report of ShowLines=False on grids causing the data to not display). I'm wondering if I've messed up my installation somehow, as others are not seeing them.

So the new icon showed up at the end, but the *other* icons were still shifted ?

No, that won't matter.

In the other categories, yes, not in the standard category where the new icon was.
