Thread AV Deleting DataSet at designtime
Mon, Nov 2 2015 5:03 AMPermanent Link

When I delete a DataSet component fro my form at designtime, I get an AV that I can't get resolve.
IOW - EWB must be terminated using Task Manager.

Bug?

What are the steps to reproduce this?

I just added a Dataset moved it around and deleted it and I don't get an AV.

It appears to be a bug.

If you drop a DataSet on a form and link it to a Grid then delete the
DataSet the AV occurs.

Hi Walter,

Did you link the DataSet to a visual component on the form?

I can confirm this as well. Not only with DataSets, but occasionally with buttons and other components. It seams to be happening randomly as I cannot reproduce it. When the AV triggers, it trigger an AV message dialog that pops up about every second making it along queue of dialogs piling up. If I have unsaved work, I just keep pressing enter to close all the dialogs and eventually I manage to hit the save button with the mouse before I kill the app and start it again. If I do not save, re-open EWB and delete the same component again, usually there is no AV. So yea, random from time to time. I have not reported this yet as it's not happening frequent enough for me to loose focus on my work.

I managed to get the FastMM4 full-debug mode to spit out something on this, and will have a fix for it with build 5, which should be out later today.
