You could use Chrome, and then use localhost and the application name.
That's how I have tested pretty much all of mine as I have complex
server needs.

You are right, localhost/myapplication.html also works with Firefox on XP

I should have read more carefully.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Congratulations - looking forward to the time to revamp my application
and make full advantage from the new facilities. The preview has shown
it has a lot of new power.

Doc,

Yes, finally. Smile

<< Just one problem that is certainly not only mine:
EWB2 final version installs in the place where EWB1 was installed and
removes EWB1. >>

I'm uploading a new 2.00 B2 this morning that corrects this problem.

Doc,

I've updated the docs and the web site to reflect the fact that it isn't
actually compatible with Windows XP, but rather requires Vista or higher due
to the IE9+ requirement.

Thanks,

Thanks.  I hope that it really serves you well - you've put a lot of time
and effort into helping us make EWB a better product, and we certainly
appreciate it.

** Elevate Web Builder 2 requires Internet Explorer 9 or higher for proper operation of the embedded web browser in the IDE.

This is a basic requirement for EWB2, IE 9 or higher as it requires certain browser features not available in the lower versions, including IE8.

Check the settings of your localhost. Do you run WAMP or some other web server on port 80? Check and see what port the EWB Web Server is running on and if it is in fact started and running.

It's a great product - and finally available for all web developers. My
best wishes for the future of EWB! Thanks a lot.

Thanks Tim. Congrats on the EWB2 release.

Build 2 indeed fixes the install destination issue but it still wants to
use "Elevate Web Builder" as the default start menu folder which may
interfere with EWB1. I just added a 2 on the end during install so no
problem but may be worth looking at.

With the new version 2.0b2 that installs together with EWB1 I tried a new clean install.
I choosed a different directory to the orignal installation and ran into the following problem:
On IDE start I get the error:
Unexpected error encountered while building the component library
Cannot open file {OldPath}\WebLabels.wbs
I didn't find an ini file or a registry entry referring to {OldPath}.
The only solution at the moment is to use the {OldPath} again.
Anny suggestions?
