# 240 New International Support Causing Problem with Transliteration of Characters

I DL'ed the latest version of the DB (ver 1.07 registered of course). I tried opening old data files (from version 1.06) but coulnd not read the HEBREW data since it became junk. The files are OK i just can't read the meaning of the letters since all Hebrew charactes are junk now...)

The problem is only with tables created with older version since when I changed the code of the refreshTableStructure (the help file added four more params..) I could read the Hebrew letters in the database.

I know this is not a bug but a conversion utility is needed here... i.e. I have to "translate" the old data to new data... could you explain me how to do that? or better yet if you have a "Language conversion" utility that I can run on my files like I did with the cnvrt101, 102, and 103.

The problem was with the change between 1.06 and 1.07 when the international support was introduced. In the 1.07 release the Transliterate functionality for string fields and memo fields was removed since it was not needed with the new international support. We have a conversion utility that was provided to the customer that will fix any data file with this problem.
