# 2640 Changes to the Collation for Column Involved in Constraints are Ignored

I did some tests with EDB Manager and found that in fact it's possible to have 'aaa' and 'AAA' in the column if I enter the data while the column is defined as case-sensitive and after that change the column to case-insensitive. It seems the primary index ignores the change.

Comments Comments and Workarounds
The workaround is to also drop the applicable constraint and then re-add it. It will then pick up the collation change.
