# 4367 Derived Tables in Queries Can Cause a Dangling Read Lock on the Database Catalog

I think there is an issue when running a cross database query with an inner select:

- We have database DB_Root

- We have database DB_Child1

- We open database DB_Child1

- And run the following query below in the manager

- If you check now the locks you will see that there is a read lock on the catalog of DB_Root that is still open while if we close the session.

So seems to be that by adding SELECT * FROM ( … ) d around our original SELECT statement we have an extra lock.

select * from
(select *
  from TblChild1 c LEFT JOIN DB_Root.TblRoot1 r ON c.TblRoot1ID=r.ID) d

Resolution

Fixed Problem on 3/14/2016 in version 2.22 build 2
