# 895Null BCD Field Values Can Cause Problem with Indexes and Other Areas A null, or blank, BCD field value can cause problems when operated on for indexing and searching operations. For example, changing a NULL BCD field to a non-NULL value will cause an "index page buffers corrupt" error if the field is also indexed.
CommentsIf you use BCD fields in indexes and the fields contain NULL values you should repair the table(s) with 3.02. Other operations are fixed by using 3.02 instead of 3.01. This problem only applies to NULL BCD fields, and not BCD fields that contain data.
