# 2861 Dropping a Column Referenced in a Trigger in an ALTER TABLE Statement Causes Incorrect Error

After dropping a field before deleting the attached trigger the db cannot be opened for altering in EDBManager any more.
Once the field is gone, droping the trigger does not solve the problem either . Even after they are both gone from EDBManager, keep getting Error #401.

Comments Comments and Workarounds
Could not reproduce the error as described, although trying to drop the column would product an incorrect #401 error instead of the proper dependency error. This has been corrected so that a dependency error is raised if the trigger refers to the column being dropped in any NEWROW or OLDROW references. The workaround, in general, was to drop the trigger before dropping the column.
