# 3615 Querying ServerSessions Table Causes #506 Error When a Long-Running Process is Taking Place

We tend to see this error quite a bit:

"Error #506 Cannot lock the session manager"

For instance if I run a “BACKUP DATABASE” on a large project which takes 10 minutes or so to complete; then the “Manage Server Sessions” functionality is completely useless. I understand that a particular project may not be accessible, but to not be able to manage any of the server sessions is troubling to our clients.

Comments Comments
The internals have been changed so that the ServerSessions table population no longer requires a lock on each session in order to read its information.
