# 4773 MacOS Sockets Experiencing Invalid Socket Shutdown Error

I just tried the new build, and it is indeed a more polite error. I get a message now that says "Socket Error: Socket is not connected (57), on API 'shutdown'".

It seems to suppress the error correctly and I can even go on to use other functions in the app.

This issue was related to problems in how the shutdown socket API call works on MacOS. For some reason, there is a race condition or something similar that prevents this API call from working reliably on that platform.

Fixed Problem on 1/12/2020 in version 2.31 build 12
