Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | A new build 5 of the EDB preview will be available shortly. There is
another catalog format change in this release, so you'll have to recreate the databases and tables again for this build. This should be the last format change required. Just so you know, the catalog files can adapt to new formats and have versioning built in, but I'd like to keep the final release version to 1 (what it is now) instead of incrementing it during the preview builds. Also, the format change was done to allow for multiple in-memory databases in EDB. The default "Memory" database is no longer present and you must create a database as an in-memory database using the CREATE DATABASE SQL statement. Please see here for more information: http://www.elevatesoft.com/edb1sql_create_database.htm This, of course, means that you can now have any number of different in-memory databases in EDB. (That's for you, Sean McCall . Also, the reverse-engineering has been expanded to allow for you to create a procedure definition that will create the entire database metadata for a given database. This should make it easier to move database definitions around because all you have to do is simply execute the procedure to create the database tables, views, etc. Finally, there's a bunch of bug fixes in the new build and the installation setups have been prettied up a bit. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
