Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Lucian,
<< Yes, I know. I was saying I thought it was not compiled with the Unicode symbol defined ... but I was wrong. >> Ahh, I see - you meant the difference between the internal engine version constant vs. the version in the version information. << I think what happend was that when I installed build 14, Windows must've updated the shortcut I had for EDB Manager and it was pointed to the non-unicode version... and I did not notice it >> Was this a desktop shortcut, or a Start/Programs menu shortcut ? -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Lucian Radulescu" | You know, actually I don't know any more what happend. Think about it:
previously, with the build 13, I was using the Unicode version of the server *and* the manager. So my database config files, etc were unicode, right? Now, immediately after I installed build 14 and started the service, than setup the server to point to my old (and Unicode) config files... , the server would not start. Until I deleted the config files and let the server re-create them. But than the manager would not work .... etc The only logical explanation is that I mixed the .exes, but than, I am very carefull with that! I don't know man ... sometime I feel that "my mind is going" ... thx anyway (and forget about it) Lucian |

I wish there were a better way now to deal with it, but I think the current design will pay off in the future as everything becomes more and more 100% Unicode. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
