I have to renew my digital code certificate for code signing my normal Delphi-developed commercial 32-bit business applications and am being asked what length of the Private Key I want.

As I understand it, the medium length key is 1024 bits but I have read that some recommendations are to use the high grade encryption key length of 2048 bits.  Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions on using this longer key length or do I just stick with the 1024 bit key for the next two years?
