Just in case anyone is interested

http://www.torry.net/quicksearchd.php?String=edbimage&Title=No

For the first time in ages I wanted to store a jpg in a table and display it. I was quickly reminded that DBImage only works with bitmaps so had a look on Torry. Found this component, spent 5 minutes removing the QuickReport component, altering DesgnInt with DesignInt and it works brilliantly.

Roy,

Thanks for the link.
I went to his home page which is on Yahoo and he has a more recent update
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/delphicomps/conversations/topics/74

But the download file using the link:

>>You can access this file at the URL:

downloads a 58kb .zip file but I when I open it, it is empty. Have you had the same problem?

TIA

Since I downloaded from Torry I didn't have the problem Smiley

Just tried the link above and can't even start a download.

Sorry about that. You probably need a Yahoo account to download the file. The file was uploaded to Yahoo in March 2014. The Torry file was from a few years ago so naturally I went for the more recent file.

I ran a couple of zip repair programs on the file I downloaded from Yahoo and it still produced an empty zip file. I'm not sure why because the zip file is 58k. I emailed the author and hopefully he'll get back to me.

In the mean time I'll look at the file on Torry's.

For my current app, when the user chooses a file from the directory,  I convert it to PNG stream and store it as a Blob in my EDB table. I find it much easier to deal with just one image file type.

Interesting approach. I'll have a think about that.
