NNTP has not worked for me for a while but http access does seem to work (https://forums.embarcadero.com/index.jspa) - not sure if nntp has been disabled or something else if going on. If i can't do nntp then i just really don't bother with their NGs much unless i have a specific issue (and SO is usually my 1st stop). I realize it's bit unfair but i can't interpret it as anything other than pure incompetence and disrespect for their customers by not keeping basic newsgroups active. Not to mention IMHO they are losing an excellent marketing channel for both their own and 3rd party offerings. Raul |

Nah - I bet they're just trying to push us all on to their magnificent on-line thingy Mind you, considering that they picked such rubbish software to start with (can't thread properly, edits end up being new threads - sometimes etc etc) incompetence may well be the right answer. The community main page is OK for news but rest I agree is definitely rubbish (especially forums section - both for UI and content). Raul |

Now XanaNews retrieves the Embarcadero posts again ... and I am catching up on my lurking. Malcolm |

Jan Ferguson Data Software Solutions, Inc. Team Elevate | I agree with Malcom. I read about the SSL requirement and as soon as I
checked the "SSL Required" box in the "Dialp and Connection" Account Properties of XanaNews, I started getting Embarcadero forums again. -- Roy Lambert wrote: > Is it just me or have they gone again? > > > Roy Lambert Roy, |

Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Thanks Malcolm and J.B., it's all working now with SSL. -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |

The 'conditions' starte that SSL is only required for the private ones. OK, it is flagged as a beta server so it could be accidental while they develop it, but it depends on whether you believe in conspiracies! |
